I'm finding out who I really am. Who I am at my core.
I have strong opinions ... I will share them, but only when I feel so inclined. Generally speaking, I think before I speak -- especially in large groups. But once you get to know me, I am an open book. Don't be put off by my apparent shyness ... because shy is the last thing to describe me accurately. I love when people open doors for me and pull out my chair for me ... but I usually forget and try to do it myself. I want to be respected -- I want my feelings to be respected and my thoughts to be respected. More than anything else, I want my body to be respected. I know how to be sexy, I know how to be desirable. I choose not to be those things because I do not want what comes when one intentionally creates a sexy persona. I like being told that I'm beautiful ... I like being told I'm sexy -- because those are not things I strive to be ... but I want my boundaries respected.
I'm not always as confident as I seem ... there are many nights and many days when all I want is to be held. I love being held. Always. Sometimes I don't want to talk about what is bothering me ... sometimes I just want a hug ... someone who will let me cry. I like when boys cry in front of me -- when people aren't afraid to show what they're really feeling. I don't like when people run from their true feelings because it doesn't do anyone any good. I wear my heart on my sleeve, but I am not naive. I know what it feels like to be completely broken and I am all too familiar with what it means to be hurt. "I know what it's like to see something funny and not laugh." I've been taken advantage of, used, and abused. My feelings have been blatantly disregarded. But I still believe that all people are good at heart ... and my trust in people has not diminished. To be completely honest, I hope it never does. Ever.
I do not like being told things just to make me happy. I would rather be told the truth and be hurt than be "protected" and happy. I overreact sometimes. Don't be afraid to tell me I'm wrong or out of line. I like people who are strong enough to face me when I'm raging ... people who will let me angry for a little while ... people who won't think less of me for my somewhat sporadic mood swings. When I'm hurt, I withdraw. I threaten to run away from the situation that is causing me pain. All I want is to be told honestly that I'm loved ... that I should stay ... sometimes I need to hear it multiple times. But if you'll be a little persistent, I'll give in. If I really love you, I might start picking fights over stupid things ... for no reason. It means I'm bored. That things have gotten monotonous. I love just going with the flow ... I don't always want things planned out. I'm indecisive -- there are too many things I would really like to do ... and I'm afraid you won't like what I choose.
I am afraid of being lonely ... of having my heart broken ... of not being appreciated or wanted. Of people not knowing how much they mean to me. I'm afraid of drowning, of choking and of not understanding. I'm not afraid to be myself or of interacting with people who are different than me. I'm not afraid to admit that I'm wrong, but I will rarely admit it publicly.
I like skittles and brand new sharpies. I love paper and journals. I'm a huge packrat. Grey's Anatomy is my favorite show ... Felicity is #2. I love the smell of new books and new houses ... I don't like the smell of new cars or air fresheners. I love chocolate and mint ice cream. I love sweatpants ... I love having my hair in a messy bun. I love being comfortable and I love being told that I'm beautiful, even if I'm in sweats and my hair is a mess. I am just as comfortable in a skirt as I am in sweats. I love to work, it makes me feel productive and useful. It keeps me from being idle. I hate feeling useless. I love staying up late and I love sleeping though I will never sleep enough. I love my dog.
I love kids. I want 2 ... at least. I know it's a lot of work, you don't have to tell me. My favorite color is green. I love reading for hours on end ... especially outside on a sunny day. I love the sun ... I love being warm. However, I love playing in the rain and sitting outside when it's stormy. I like making snowmen and snow angels ... and I like the handprints in the middle when I get up.
I support and appreciate people who can argue their point in an educated manner, who have a logical reason for things -- even if I don't agree. I don't like when people can't support themselves ... I don't like laziness. I'm trying to learn how to disagree without being disagreeable and I admire people who know how. I also admire people who can dance. I love to cuddle. I love being close. I love having friends and I love laughing with my friends . I love praying ... I love studying my scriptures. I'd rather be cold than hot and I would rather eat beef than chicken. Christmas and Valentine's Day are my two favorite holidays. I admire integrity and honesty -- I love when people

If Bizarre Magazine were to leap from the printed page, to magically transform into a sick and twisted television show, what devilish delights would you expect to find? A bountiful display of blood and breasts? Why of course. Midget mayhem? Certainly. A kaleidoscopic canvas of freakazoids and perverts, eager to tell tall tales from the underbelly of society, all delivered with a ripe sense of humour? Indubitably readers.
Until that happens though, America’s Queer Edge TV is succulently succeeding in filthily filling the televisual gap in the mondo-world of weird. Hosted by irreverent Jack E. Jett, every weeknight on gay channel Q sees mountainous bosoms bouncing on screen, transsexuals telling us how they did it and a scandalous selection of guests and celebrities revealing tidbits and often bodyparts that other shows dare not reveal…

You’re the alternative, what’s wrong with mainstream TV in America at the moment?
Mainstream TV is just so fucking boring. It’s become like politics. With the exception of a few things, it’s too vanilla for even the most vanilla. People are just starting to turn off or they’re 'Tivoing' to the max, so they can cut through the crap to the good stuff. As far as talk shows go, I think network TV has gotten crappier over a period of time because there’s this huge wall between the celebrity and host about what you can and cannot say or do. To me its censorship at its corniest. It’s like censoring something for no other reason that protecting someone’s career.
What are you looking for in a guest?
My best guest has been Fran Baskerville, the singing psychic who not only predicts the future, but predicts the future with a guitar and a really tone deaf voice. Another is Rocky Roulette who comes on my show and can totally strip from a tuxedo down to a g-string while on a pogo stick - to me, that is talent. Matt Trample, who likes to come on and be trampled on by the other guests – that’s entertaining to me. Last night we had a guy on paints portraits of Jesus being fucked. That fascinates me because when you get into his head, he’s not doing it for the shock value, even that obviously is there, but he has a reason behind doing it. That makes all the TV business bullshit that I go through worthwhile when I get to sit besides these people.
Are you looking for shock value?
No. I think we’re going for the counterculture, the sub-culture. There’s the pop culture and the level below is the sub-culture and even below that is a sub-sub-culture of people. If you just keep digging below the layers you find people that really love to hang from the ceiling by their nipples. Those people fascinate me. I want to know why. It’s not a judgmental thing. It’s a “what gets your nipples going? Why is that cool to you?”
How much of a stir have you caused or are you in way under the mainstream radar?
In a way we’ve been under the radar but now we’ve been busted by this right-wing organization called Accuracy In Media, a media watchdog group. They said our show was “poisoning the culture of America,” basically that Satan was coming back and they referred to me as being the opposite of Rita Crosby, some right wing chick on a right wing show. Which is offensive because this woman is so fucking ugly, and not only that is far more butch than me.
Talking of obese people, I believe you worked with Liz Taylor?
I was the talent coordinator at an American Film Institute tribute my job was to oversee her. I’ll never forget it. Everybody was waiting for Ms. Taylor to turn up when all of a sudden this crowd of people is coming down the hall. I thought, “Well she has to be in the middle of that somewhere.” So I’m jumping up and down and I see this heavyweight little lady being scuffled through, shoved into this dressing room and the door locked. They said, “Ms. Taylor will be ready in an hour and you should wait here.” So I waited for about an hour and a half until I was told Ms. Taylor would see me. And I walk in and it was like something out of a fucking glamour movie. The room was lavender and the lighting was perfect; she turned around and this woman was now Elizabeth Taylor. It was like they (stretches his face) all they could do and there beneath was this beautiful old Elizabeth Taylor. I mean, I was expecting the cow they just shuffled in. At first she was kind of a little meek, but then her friend Maureen Stapleton came in who was an alcoholic at the time and the two of them started kibitzing and it was like two sailors cussing – Goddamn this and Goddamn that! While I was standing there, I felt this grasp on my arm, a push and I was turned around – and it’s Bette Davis. She goes (does gravelly voice) “I’m Davis, Bette Davis.” She was pissed off because her dressing room wasn’t as big as Elizabeth Taylor’s. So we had to scurry and find this bigger dressing room for so they could all be happy. The funny thing is it wasn’t long

Billed as the "future of fitness" and hawked by numerous celebrities, Billy Blanks's Tae-Bo actually deserves much of the hype it's receiving. A mixture of boxing punches and martial arts kicks, Tae-Bo is fun and easy. One of the best elements of this four-tape set is that the first tape (which is 40 minutes long), Tae-Bo: Instructional, lays out the movements you need to successfully complete a workout. Once you've mastered the steps, you won't have to fast-forward through half the tape to get to the workout, nor will your workout be slowed down by the repeated lessons. After you feel comfortable with the movements (and they're really quite easy to follow; nothing too complicated to trip you up), you're ready to move on to Tae-Bo: Basics, a 27-minute workout (5 minutes of warm-up, 18 minutes of Tae-Bo, and 4 minutes of cool-down) that will have your heart pounding and your body sweating. Next comes Advanced, a 57-minute workout that will have your heart racing, pulse pounding, and sweat glands working overtime. There's razzmatazz on the moves, with slightly more complicated combinations that should be fairly easy to master if you've completed the first two tapes. This video seriously raises the bar on the difficulty factor.
In addition to the short warm-up, the cool-down, and the 30 minutes of Tae-Bo, Advanced Tae-Bo also includes 18 minutes of muscle-crunching floor work. You know you're in trouble when even the guys in the tape have trouble keeping up. Make sure you have truly mastered the first two tapes before attempting this one. The 8-Minute Workout is a highly compacted workout (actually 14 minutes long when you include warm-up and cool-down) for those days when you're too short on time for Basic or Advanced. While the 8-minute idea is compelling, it's not an adequate substitute for the longer workouts. Blanks, a seven-time World Martial Arts champion, is a superb instructor, providing encouragement and careful instruction (if you don't know by the end of the tape to hold in your stomach, that's no one's fault but your own). The only downside to these tapes is the less-than-exciting music. Not only is Tae-Bo great exercise for all levels, but the punches and kicks are wonderful for working out stress and aggression. This is the aerobics exercise video for people who are bored by aerobics. --Jenny Brown
